The Straits Times Online reader Julian Lim was so excited about the impending Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, that he sent in some images of its preparations on Saturday afternoon.
"In less than two hours, we’re going to kick off the Opening Ceremony for the first ever Youth Olympics," he wrote, e-mailing ST Online a photograph of a videographer shooting the skyline around the Float @ Marina Bay.

"It gives me goosebumps just writing about it. This will be the best place to be on earth in just a few hours," said Mr Lim.
He also helpfully added in the e-mail: "But even if you don't have tickets, you'll get a feel of the whole party atmosphere just being in the vicinity of the city. You can go to the free performances at the Promontory, which is between Marina Bay Sands and One Marina Boulevard."
The Straits Times Online's Breaking News Editor, Irene Ngoo, will be blogging live on the YOG Opening Ceremony from 7.30pm. Go to www.straitstimes.com for more.
