Mr Ashwin Gopala Krishnan, 23, who is diagnosed with autism, is comforted by his mother, Madam Harjinder Kaur, 51. He was throwing a tantrum during a visit to the beach. There are an estimated 18,000 adults with Autism in Singapore. With adult services here in its infancy, Ashwin faces an uncertain future. But the young man pushes on, with much help from his family, his therapists, medication and an endearing sense of humour.
